Just like Beth, we too have heard rumblings that the current Mayor/Council may be back at it again with trying to push shared services with our police. It is mind boggling after the Cusack Martinez report that they would even think about this again...just mind boggling. For those of you who have not read the Cusack/Martinez report, take a look at it on SaveMAPD.com and you will see how bad the Blue Shield report really was and you will also see that our interests are best served with our own police department.

We're still with ya - will do the same thing as we did the last time - stand by our department - should the sharing issue come up again. We'll be happy to rally again but hoping we won't have to. Stay safe guys.

Glad to see this site it back up and running. I am sure the residents of Lambertville will find the info here to be valuable. I hope blue shield gives Lambertville a report that is significantly improve, however, I simply don't think he has the skill set to do so.

I am glad to hear that your department made it through your ordeal. I am a Chief Officer of a Security Police Department in Selma, Alabama. However, I live in a town not much bigger than yours. I also am a reservist on our department. We only have 11 full time officers in my town and we have been combatting the city council for quite some time now. Unfortunately, the County Sheriff's Ofc. isn't much bigger and joint jurisdiction isn't really a problem for us, seeing how, the next town is 37 miles away, of which I work in by the way. Communities are comfortable with law enforcement officers that actually reside within their community. It gives a sense of loyalty to the public and in such a small community, high level crime is non existant with a healthy public/deparment relationship. Hats off to you and good luck in your venture. By the way, its this officers recommendation that for every 100 people there should be 2 officers on duty. National Survey Supported. Information should be available throught the FOP.
