MT. ARLINGTON POLICE...SAVED!!

Although saving the MAPD is a serious campaign, we are not without a sense of humor here at SaveMAPD.com. We hope that this page will make you smile as we bring you the "lighter side" of the campaign. If you have any funny pictures or stories that relate to the SaveMAPD campaign, be sure to let us know!

Mt. Arlington Police Department....SAVED!  END OF STORY!

September 21, 2007:

Today, is a sad day indeed as we report we have lost another one of our finest.... Woody.  Woody stood tall and firm at the corner of Howard Blvd. and Oneida for almost 3 months- but his defenses weaked over the course of the those months.  Woody stood stout at almost 4 feet and even wider at 8 foot, he spread the word about saving the MAPD and did so in rain, shine and even under enemy attack.  We ackowledge that it is possible Woody may simply be captured, but we fear the worst and believe he may be on his way to the land fill.

If you can hear us Woody - "We are all routing for you and miss you!  Don't believe the people who are holding you...you're not going to be taken back to your family!!...you're are on your way to the land fill or even worse!  Run, run, run...run for your life...run while you still can Woody!  We love you Woody!"

Today, we pay tribute to Woody and all the other SaveMAPD signs who have given their lives to spread the good word about the MAPD.  Woody....Rest in Peace.

September 6, 2008:

Today reports came in from the field that another homemade beauty has appeared at a SaveMAPD supporter's home.  Given the recent problems we have had with stolen signs, this resident decided to chain the sign to the tree.  In addition, they planted a trip-wire with laser guided sites to protect it from anyone who may attempt to steal or vandelize it.  Also, they have a small and cute pitt bull that protects the sign during all hours.  I have a feeling that this beauty will stay put!

Today the SaveMAPD campaign pays tribute to 2 of its finest!  First we have the Ugly Duckling that has survived against all odds at the corner of Howard and Onieda for over a month!  This monster 4 foot X 8 foot sign has shown us all that size does matter because no one can pick this thing up and steal it!  It has escaped theft, vandelism and destruction against all odds- we hereby pay tribute to one  of the finest homemade signs this campaign has seen:

Next, we pay tribute to the most clever sign made by a SaveMAPD supporter...the scrolling sign which can be found at one of the SaveMAPD supporters homes!  We think that this is a great show of support, but we recommend not staring at this sign if you happen to see it driving by...it has been known to hypnotise those who lay eyes on it....

The SaveMAPD campaign was successful in acquiring the new video footage of the "Sign Thief".  Please thank, John A.  (who is a strong supporter of the MAPD) for allowing us to publish this video on our web site.  John  was determined not let his SaveMAPD lawn sign be stolen by this thief, so he decided to  hide a video camera in a small flower pot near the roadside.  This video is in color, so it may provide a few more clues about who this thief really is.  Unfortunately, the last video clip did not provide enough clues to his identity, so we are hopeful this one might.  Here is the video of the SaveMAPD "sign thief" in action once again.

Today we have received numerous reports that our "sign thief" was back in action.  It seems that he believes he is immune to the law.  In any case, we have some further video footage of thief stealing a SaveMAPD sign.  Currently, the SaveMAPD campaign is working on acquiring permission to publish the video on the web site.  Please stay tuned for further updates regarding our ability to publish the video on our web site.  We encourage SaveMAPD supporters who have signs in their laws to watch very closely as the thief seems to be very motivated!

Once again, the organizer of the SaveMAPD campaign awoke bright and early to check whether the stolen SaveMAPD signs had been returned as demanded.  It is with a heavy heart that we report, the thief did not return the stolen signs and the 48-hour deadline has now expired.   SaveMAPD.com will now release the video of the thief stealing a SaveMAPD sign.  Please look closely at this video as it may reveal several clues about the identity of the thief.  If, after viewing the video, you believe you may know who this thief is, please let us know.  Click here for this exclusive video!

Today the SaveMAPD organizer awoke bright and early to check on the status of the stolen signs.  Unfortunately, as of this morning, the stolen signs have not yet been returned.  The thief now has 24 hours before a video tape of the theft will be posted on this web site.  Mr. Thief....it is not too late to do the right thing.  Return all of the SaveMAPD signs that you have stolen and I will not press charges or post the video of you stealing on this web site.

Today, we report that the organizer of the SaveMAPD was a victim of a crime.  The SaveMAPD sign sitting on his front lawn was stolen, no doubt by the same individual that has been stealing in Mt.  Arlington.  This thief is bold and daring as he now has commited crimes in Mt. Arlington and Roxbury Twp.  We thank him for motivating SaveMAPD supporters even more - stealing SaveMAPD signs does more good for the campaign then he understands.

One thing the thief did not know...the organzier of the SaveMAPD has 2 eyewitness accounts of the theft as well as a videotape of the theft!  I guess he was too focused on the theft to notice the wireless camera in the bushes just 5 feet from the sign!  The tape shows his face and the theft in perfect clarity!  This evidence will be turned over to authorities this morning.  However, the SaveMAPD organizer has decided to make a one time offer to not press charges as long as all of the signs are returned within 48 hours.  The thief must place all stolen signs on the front lawn of the SaveMAPD organizer's home; if the thief decides to return the signs, the SaveMAPD organizer gives his word he will not press charges.   However, the videotape clip will appear on this web site and charges will be pressed if the thief does not return all of the stolen signs.

Reports came in today that on overzealous supporter decided to plant an official SaveMAPD sign in the planter at the town hall.  We understand that many of you are committed to saving the MAPD, but we ask that you do not let your signs wander past your own property.  Although it is possible this particular sign decided to walk off by itself, in all fairness, it is unlikely.  Also, these signs cost us a great deal of money and although the intent was good, we are sure that signs will not survive more than just a few minutes in a location such as the Town Hall flower box. So, please do not let your signs get loose!

Today we tragically report that we lost 3 of our campaigns finest; Adam, Charlie and Brian.  It is tragic, but all 3 were mutulated when a Morris County Lawn Mower decided to attack.  Fortunately, the attack was swift and powerful and all 3 died for a good cause and without pain. They stood their ground in the face of utter destruction and we thank them for their short, but honorable service.  The mower was a large beast weighing in at over 3 tons as it ruthlessly and mercilessesly ended their lives.  A 4th, is still Missing in Action, but we believe he may be prisoner or perhaps taken hostage for ransom. Here are the last known photos of Adam, Charlie and Brian after suffering a brutal attack.  If you know the whereabouts of #4, please let us know!
