Mt. Arlington Police....SAVED!
This site was dedicated to "saving" the Mt. Arlington Police Department. I am glad to report that on Oct 22, 2007 the Mayor and Council decided to "table" the idea of disbanding the Mt. Arlington Police department! Not only did the council decide to table the idea of disbanding the PD, they even voted to add an additional officer to supplement the current department! This is a victory for supporters for the MAPD as well as a great day for the residents of Mt. Arlington!
Please take a moment to review the Cusack/Martinez report and cover letter which show that shared services were simply not a "good fit" for the MTA community; The Cusack/Martinez was "commissioned" by the SaveMAPD campaign and proved that the Blue Shield Study was not able to support its' recommendations and conclusions. In particular, this email exchange between Ms. Cusack and Mayor Ondish really sums up why shared services was not a good fit for Mt. Arlington. The SaveMAPD campaign owes a big thanks to Ms. Cusack and Mr. Martinez for superb work with their unbaised counter-report.

* It was very exciting to see over 400 supporters attend the 10/22 council meeting at the Mt. Arlington School! It was a rare treat to see in person all of the support and it was simply the perfect evening as the council decided to discontinue the idea of disbanding the MAPD. (10/22/2007)
